ABOUT UG

UG is a new unique way of experiencing food and hanging out together. Here, everyone eats the kind of food they fancy sitting around the same table. No need to run around queuing to order or collect – it’s all sorted out with your smartphone! Just sit down, check out the online menus, order, pay and then relax and enjoy as your table is served.

We scout new concepts and coach you in perfecting your offerings.

The UG team brings its deep experience in international restaurants, catering and food delivery. We believe that UG is the answer to the challenges that restaurants face today with staffing, changing eating habits, and rising ingredient prices. It’s tough to launch a small independent restaurant. We make it so much easier!

UG Hakaniemi will open in Helsinki early 2024.

UG Hakaniemi will be a trendy venue for six new food concepts. We are not aiming for fine dining. The style we are looking for is in the ballpark of super good global street food. The kitchens will be small but functional,

with room for 3-5 kitchen workers.

You make the food, we take care of all the rest.

We are building a unique new restaurant system that makes it so much easier to order and have the food our diners like brought to their table. You don’t need a cashier or someone to write down food orders. And that’s also more hygienic.

You and your staff are totally focused on your quality food preparation.

ABOUT YOU

You have a passion for food, an interesting menu idea and the dream of opening your own pro kitchen. You’ve likely got catering experience or worked in a professional kitchen. Semi pro chefs can have great taste ideas too, even if they’ve never scaled up the number of servings. We’ll show you how to do that too.

The food style can be anything. Something that you have developed, a dish you fell in love with on your travels, or maybe you want to make the best comfort food you know – some- thing your grandmother made for you when you were young. Or maybe you make tasty food from home before you moved to live in Finland. You might already even have a team of friends with a plan – this is your opportunity to realise your kitchen dream!

Your initial investment is low compared to starting your own restaurant from scratch. Your kitchen will be ready for you. You don’t need a front desk. We bring in the customers and deliver your food to their tables. You run the kitchen – staff and supplies. You don’t pay rent, the business is commission based.
